I will overwhelm 'credible boxer' Paul - Joshua
The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-bout fight which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.
Briton Joshua said he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to promote next month's bout.
Former two-time unified title holder Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.
Boxer's Attitude
"I will break his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.
"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I'm going to genuinely try to injure him. That's what I want to do."
Civil Interaction
In spite of such comments, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually recognized for his showmanship - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.
Paul instead targeted ex Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "ridiculous" after Ngannou rejected a fight offer.
Taking Aim at Fury
Anthony Joshua, at the same time, targeted British rival Fury - and rejected a large bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul victory.
"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua stated.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Fighter
Despite saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he said.
Paul's History
Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.
He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.
Commercial Success
Still, the inexperienced fighter is still one of the sport's greatest commercial attractions, frequently receiving huge paydays.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28 year old anticipated a knockout win in round four or five and claimed he would prevent the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly in the works for two years from now.
"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul stated.
Physical Disparity
As the two fighters met for the traditional face-off, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it highlighted just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is truly proceeding.
